CAV Doc : Multiculturalism by Andrew Klavan
Diversity (multiculturalism / pluralism / pluri-ethnicity) is a mix (a compound / a merger / a hybridization) of people from different (origin / colour / culture  / roots / ethnicity) gender, education, religion. Ethnicity and identity are interconnected (inter-related, intermingled) and it is difficult to put our culture aside to fit in (to get integrated).   There is discrimination because people don’t mix (are not connected / are not turned). People live apart in their community because of prejudices or because they are scared of differences.   We should stop being scared of differences. We should tolerate (should recognize / should acknowledge / should accept) differences. We should be more open-minded (open-minded / tolerant).   There is a rise of nationalism (patriotism) because people are more short-sighted (narrow minded intolerant). They are scared of immigrants. But multiculturalism is a philosophy that considers every culture valid (legitimate). We shouldn’t impose our culture.
